____________
At the Westraven headquarters of Rijkswaterstaat, MOSS developed an extensive interior planting design to support the transformation of the building into a biophilic and future-proof workplace.
–
The green concept integrates natural elements throughout key zones—atriums, semi-indoor patios, the grand café, and office tower floors—to provide well-being and enhance spatial quality. MOSS introduced a variety of custom planter typologies, including integrated furniture planters, recessed floor planters, and rotating tree pits.
–
These elements support diverse species ranging from low tropical ground covers to monumental indoor trees such as Ficus nitida and Podocarpus gracilior. Special attention was given to light conditions, irrigation strategy, and long-term maintenance. The planting palette reinforces a seamless visual and textural connection between exterior, semi-interior, and fully interior spaces.
–
With this design, MOSS creates a calming, welcoming, and ecologically rich environment that embodies Rijkswaterstaat’s ambitions for sustainability and collaboration.
