La Place opened a branch in the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam — a so-called ‘flagship restaurant’. This is located in the former V&D building, which has been completely renovated. Jumbo has listened carefully to the wishes of the customers and has looked at the trends of tomorrow, taking into account the demand for vegetarian and organic products, as well as a sustainable design and ambiance for their locations.

MOSS designed The Roof Garden Café, which has been described as “an eye-catcher, with lots of greenery where guests can get away from the hectic inner city for a while.” The cafe aims to bring the outdoors inside with lush green plants of all shapes and sizes.

MOSS also designed the green throughout the building, including a custom green wall filled with tropical hanging plants. There is also a hanging green atrium garden, which leads all visitors upstairs. With lots of natural light and a specially designed water system, the plants at La Place make this building a green oasis in the heart of the bustling city center.
