green urban living

Located next to the Westerpark, De Voortuinen was designed by Elephant studio with MOSS as green architect. We designed the technical tree planters with planting schemes that create inviting green terraces for residents, while enhancing the building’s visual and environmental quality.

Tree planters as an architectural feature

A defining feature of ‘De Voortuinen’ is its architecturally integrated tree planters on every level. We  carefully selected 120 trees to enhance the architectural vision and strategically placed on private terraces, keeping in mind the directional orientation of each façade to the north, east, south, and west.

a holistically sustainable design

De Voortuinen prioritizes energy-efficient construction, water management, and intentional plantings. The green improves microclimate comfort and supports a healthier living environment.
