A welcoming home for people and nature

Our design aimed to create a “home” for employees and visitors, with a Mediterranean-inspired atrium and a striking aluminum-leaf canopy that filters daylight. Greenery was used as a unifying element, softening transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces and enhancing the building’s openness.

A sustainable center for Amsterdam’s Zuidas

The new headquarters of the Goede Doelen Loterijen in Amsterdam Zuid was a transformation of an existing 1978 office, led by Benthem Crouwel Architects with interiors by D/DOCK. MOSS served as green architect, designing and integrating the building’s interior and exterior planting to connect people with nature throughout the workspace.

designing a biophilic workplace

MOSS designed lush interior gardens, planted terraces, and an inviting entrance landscape, all designed for year-round greenery and wellbeing. The planting scheme was tailored for low maintenance, seasonal interest, and to complement the building’s light-filled atrium and communal spaces.

BREEAM Outstanding and climate-responsive design

The project achieved a BREEAM-NL Outstanding rating through solar PV integration, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, and energy-generating windows. MOSS’s planting supports biodiversity, while the overall design demonstrates how adaptive reuse can create a modern, sustainable, and ecologically rich workplace.
