a green government office

B73 was led by Studio PROTOTYPE and ZENBER Architecten, with MOSS on the green design. We designed the Orangerie, with vertical gardens and greenery integrated into furniture and functional decor.

designing for Connection and Transparency

The vision emphasized transparency, flexibility, and collaboration, turning B73 into a multifunctional government hub. The Orangerie connects two restored pavilions, while the central stair encourages community. This design balances the building’s historic character with modern working needs, using greenery and open layouts to create a healthy, inspiring environment. Notably, original wooden elements from the Friedhoff pavilion were reused throughout the design, giving new life to historical materials.

creating the ‘Green Lung’

In the Orangerie, greenery improves air quality, acoustics, and thermal comfort. Our approach integrated plants into walls, cabinetry, and social spaces to enhance well-being and promote flexible use for informal meetings, presentations, and events.
