We are happy you scanned through to learn more about this luscious, green space.
Makers of Sustainable Spaces (MOSS)was provided with the perfect opportunity to transform this space into a luscious botanical library. The 3-meter-long planter that you just can’t miss is an elliptical shape that mimics the geometry of the already existing architecture.
FUN FACT
The botanical library encompasses 295 m3 of space of which MOSS successfully integrated 17.2 m3 of greenery. This means that in this space alone, there is almost 6% of greenery
The plants that inhabit it are of different heights, each with a unique texture and character. The star of the show is, of course, the Areca Palm and you can find more interesting information about it below:
ARECA PALM | 3 meters
As per NASA, the Areca Palm is one of the best air purifying plants!
Of the 125 plants in this room, we want to tell you about 3 in particular!
SCHEFFLERA AMATE
Also known as an umbrella tree – can you guess why?
PHILODENDRON XANADU
Its green leathery leaves can grow as large as 40 – 45cm long.
AGLOANEMA FREEDMAN
“Aglaonema” is also called Chinese Evergreen and is considered to bring luck according to Feng Shui.
Surrounding this green tropical centerpiece you can also find 16 loose pots as well as a diverse range of hanging plants from the upper level, which we added to make this a true green escape!
BONUS
Can you find the plant with the fractal-structured leaves growing upwards?
They are called Dryopteris erythrosora and are a magnificent type of fern that stems from the prehistoric era. They have teeny tiny fractals that absorb high amounts of acoustics. So, they are perfect for a space like the botanical library!
